INDICA
Often associated with relaxing, calming, and body-focused effects. Indica cannabis strains are commonly chosen by people looking to unwind, slow things down, or enjoy a more laid-back experience.
SATIVA
Often associated with uplifting, energizing, and more cerebral effects. Sativa cannabis strains are commonly explored by people looking for something that may feel more active, social, or creative.
HYBRID
Hybrid cannabis strains combine indica and sativa genetics. Depending on the strain, a hybrid may feel more relaxing, more uplifting, or somewhere in between, giving cannabis shoppers a wide range of options to explore.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Indica, sativa, and hybrid are helpful starting points, but they don’t tell the whole story. THC and other cannabinoids, terpene profiles, potency, dosage, and your individual response to cannabis can all influence your experience.
Not sure which cannabis strain is right for you? Ask a Nug Tender. Tell us what kind of experience you’re looking for, and we can help you explore the flower and cannabis products that make sense for you—no expert-level cannabis vocabulary required.
Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds found in the cannabis plant. They interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system and play a big role in how different cannabis products may feel and affect each person.
THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol)
THC is the best-known psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis and is primarily responsible for the “high” associated with cannabis. Different THC levels, products, doses, and terpene profiles can all influence the experience.
CBD (Cannabidiol)
CBD is another well-known cannabinoid, but unlike THC, it doesn’t produce the traditional cannabis high. It’s commonly associated with a more calming experience and can be found on its own or alongside THC in different cannabis products.
GOOD TO KNOW:
THC and CBD may get most of the attention, but cannabis contains many different cannabinoids. The combination of cannabinoids, terpenes, potency, dosage, and product type can all play a role in your experience—which is why two cannabis products with similar THC percentages may not necessarily feel the same.
Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in cannabis and many other plants. They’re responsible for much of the smell and flavor that makes one cannabis strain different from another—from citrusy and fruity to earthy, piney, floral, or spicy.
WHY DO TERPENES MATTER?
A cannabis strain’s terpene profile is part of what gives it its unique character. Terpenes may also interact with cannabinoids like THC and CBD and are being studied for how they may contribute to the overall cannabis experience. That’s why looking beyond THC percentage and learning about a product’s terpene profile can give you more information when choosing cannabis.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Ever open fresh cannabis and immediately notice its aroma? That’s terpenes at work. Proper cannabis storage matters because heat, light, air, and time can affect these delicate compounds—which is one reason freshness matters so much to us. See it. Smell it. Always Fresh.
Rosin is a solventless cannabis concentrate made using heat and pressure instead of chemical solvents. Known for its rich flavor, aroma, and terpene content, rosin preserves many of the naturally occurring cannabinoids and terpenes found in the cannabis it comes from. The result? A sticky, flavorful concentrate that keeps things close to the plant.
HOW IS ROSIN MADE?
Start with the good stuff:
Cannabis flower, kief, or hash is placed between heated plates.Add heat + pressure:
The material is carefully pressed, allowing the resinous oils to separate from the plant material—no chemical solvents required.Collect the rosin:
The fresh rosin is collected and prepared for use. Depending on the product, cannabis rosin may be enjoyed through dabbing, concentrate-compatible vapes, or added to flower.GOOD TO KNOW:
You may also see terms like flower rosin, hash rosin, or live rosin while shopping for cannabis concentrates. They’re all solventless concentrates, but differences in the starting material and production process can create different flavors, textures, terpene profiles, and experiences.
Resin is the sticky, aromatic material produced by the cannabis plant’s trichomes. It contains many of the cannabinoids and terpenes responsible for a strain’s potency, aroma, and flavor. When these compounds are extracted from cannabis, they can be used to create flavorful, potent cannabis concentrates often referred to as resin.
HOW IS RESIN MADE?
Start with cannabis:
Cannabis plant material is selected for extraction. The starting material and extraction method can influence the flavor, aroma, terpene profile, and final concentrate.
Extract the good stuff:
Unlike solventless rosin, many resin concentrates are produced using solvents such as butane or propane to separate cannabinoids and terpenes from the plant material.
Refine the concentrate:
The solvent is carefully removed during processing, leaving behind a concentrated cannabis extract that can take on different textures and consistencies.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Resin and rosin may sound almost identical, but they’re not the same thing. Rosin is made with heat and pressure without chemical solvents, while resin concentrates are typically produced using solvent-based extraction. You may also see live resin on a cannabis menu, which uses fresh-frozen cannabis to help preserve its aroma and terpene profile.
Distillate is a highly refined cannabis extract made by processing cannabis oil to isolate specific cannabinoids, most commonly THC or CBD. The result is a potent, versatile oil with very little of the plant’s original flavor, aroma, or terpene profile remaining.
HOW IS DISTILLATE MADE?
Start with cannabis extract:
Cannabis is first processed into an extract containing cannabinoids along with other plant compounds.
Refine + purify:
The extract goes through additional refinement and distillation to separate and concentrate cannabinoids like THC or CBD while removing many other compounds.
Put it to use:
Because cannabis distillate is highly concentrated and has a relatively neutral flavor and aroma, it’s commonly used in vape cartridges, edibles, tinctures, and other cannabis products.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Distillate is different from concentrates like rosin and live resin, which are often valued for preserving more of the cannabis plant’s original terpenes, aroma, and flavor. If you’re comparing cannabis concentrates, knowing how each one is made can help you better understand what you’re shopping for.
INFUSED NUG
Infused nug is cannabis flower that has been enhanced with a cannabis concentrate such as distillate, resin, rosin, or kief. Adding concentrates can increase the flower’s THC potency while also changing its flavor, aroma, and overall experience depending on the type of infusion used.
NON-INFUSED NUG
Non-infused nug is traditional cannabis flower without added concentrates. It’s harvested, dried, and cured so you can experience the flower’s naturally occurring cannabinoids, terpenes, aroma, flavor, and potency as it comes from the plant.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Infused cannabis flower is typically more potent than traditional flower, so checking the product’s THC content and starting with an amount that feels comfortable is especially important. Neither option is automatically “better”—it comes down to the type of cannabis experience you’re looking for.
Proper cannabis storage helps protect the freshness, aroma, flavor, potency, cannabinoids, and terpenes that make your products what they are. A few simple habits can help keep your cannabis fresh at home.
KEEP IT AIRTIGHT
Store cannabis flower in an airtight container. Glass jars with a secure lid are a great option for helping protect freshness and aroma.
COOL, DARK + DRY
Heat, direct light, air, and excess moisture can affect cannabis quality over time. Keep your flower in a cool, dark, dry place away from direct sunlight.
SKIP THE FRIDGE + FREEZER
For everyday cannabis flower storage, frequent temperature changes can introduce moisture and potentially affect delicate trichomes. A stable environment is generally a better choice.
KEEP EDIBLES SECURE
Keep cannabis edibles in their original packaging when possible, clearly labeled and securely stored away from children and pets. Always follow any storage instructions listed on the product.
FRESHNESS MATTERS
Cannabis can naturally change over time, especially its aroma, flavor, texture, and terpene profile. Proper storage helps preserve the experience, so pay attention to the product packaging and recommended storage instructions.
GOOD TO KNOW:
There’s a reason we care so much about how cannabis is stored before it reaches you. Our climate-controlled storage helps protect product quality and freshness while it’s with us—because See it. Smell it. Always Fresh. doesn’t stop at the shelf.
Small-batch craft nug is cannabis flower grown in smaller, limited quantities with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail. Rather than prioritizing mass production, craft cannabis cultivators often put extra care into each stage of the growing, harvesting, drying, and curing process.
WHAT MAKES IT “CRAFT”?
Craft cannabis is often associated with carefully selected genetics, unique cannabis strains, rich terpene profiles, strong aroma and flavor, and thoughtful cultivation practices. Smaller batches can give growers more opportunity to closely monitor the plants throughout the cultivation process.
WHY DOES SMALL-BATCH MATTER?
For cannabis shoppers, small-batch flower can be a way to explore locally grown New York cannabis, independent cultivators, unique strains, and products where craftsmanship takes center stage.
GOOD TO KNOW:
“Craft” doesn’t automatically mean one product is better than another, but it can tell you something about how the cannabis was produced. If you care about where your flower comes from, how it was grown, and the people behind it, small-batch cannabis is worth exploring.
LIVE
“Live” cannabis products are made using freshly harvested cannabis that is quickly frozen instead of being dried and cured first. This process is designed to preserve more of the plant’s original aromatic compounds, especially its terpenes, which is why products like live resin and live rosin are often known for bold aroma and flavor.
CURED
Cured cannabis products are made using flower that has gone through the traditional drying and curing process after harvest. Curing allows the cannabis to develop and change over time before it’s used to create products such as concentrates.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
The biggest difference is what happens to the cannabis after harvest and before processing. Live products start with fresh-frozen cannabis, while cured products start with dried and cured flower. That difference can influence the final product’s terpene profile, aroma, flavor, and overall experience.
GOOD TO KNOW:
You’ll commonly see terms like live resin, live rosin, cured resin, and cured concentrates while shopping for cannabis. “Live” doesn’t simply mean stronger or better—it tells you something about how the starting cannabis was handled before extraction.
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a laboratory report that gives you a closer look at what’s actually in a cannabis product. Depending on the product and testing, a cannabis COA can include information about THC and other cannabinoid levels, potency, terpene profiles, and contaminant testing.
WHY DOES A COA MATTER?
A COA gives cannabis shoppers more transparency about the product they’re purchasing. It can help you better understand potency, cannabinoid content, terpene information, and safety testing results instead of relying on the package alone.
HOW DO I FIND A PRODUCT’S COA?
Love Nug makes it easy. Our products include a QR code you can scan to access that product’s COA and lab testing information. It’s one more way to know more about what you’re buying and make an informed choice.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Don’t know what you’re looking at once you open a COA? That’s okay. Ask a Nug Tender and we can help you understand the information without making you feel like you need a science degree to shop for cannabis.
Full-spectrum cannabis products are made to preserve a broad range of the plant’s naturally occurring compounds, including THC, CBD and other cannabinoids, terpenes, and additional plant compounds rather than isolating just one cannabinoid.
WHY DOES FULL-SPECTRUM MATTER?
The idea behind full-spectrum cannabis is that these compounds may interact with one another and contribute to the overall experience. This potential interaction is commonly called the “entourage effect.” Researchers are still studying exactly how these compounds work together, and everyone’s experience with cannabis can be different.
FULL-SPECTRUM VS. DISTILLATE
Think of it this way: full-spectrum products aim to keep more of the cannabis plant’s original chemical profile together, while distillate is highly refined to concentrate specific cannabinoids like THC or CBD.
GOOD TO KNOW:
“Full-spectrum” doesn’t automatically mean stronger or better. When comparing cannabis extracts, vapes, edibles, or concentrates, look at the cannabinoid content, terpene profile, potency, and product type to better understand what you’re choosing.
Microdosing cannabis means using a very small, controlled amount of THC or another cannabis product with the goal of experiencing subtle effects without feeling overly intoxicated.
WHY DO PEOPLE MICRODOSE?
Some people choose low-dose cannabis because they prefer a milder, more manageable experience. You’ll often hear the term microdose when talking about cannabis edibles, gummies, beverages, or other products that make it easier to understand how many milligrams of THC are in each serving.
HOW MUCH IS A MICRODOSE?
There isn’t one perfect cannabis microdose for everyone. THC tolerance, individual sensitivity, product type, and serving size can all affect how a particular dose feels. Always check the product label so you know how much THC you’re consuming.
GOOD TO KNOW:
With cannabis edibles especially, effects can take longer to appear than with inhaled products and may last longer. Start low and give it time before deciding whether to consume more. If you’re unsure where to begin, ask a Nug Tender to help you understand the dosage information on the product.
INDOOR NUG
Indoor cannabis is grown entirely inside, where cultivators can closely control factors like lighting, temperature, humidity, airflow, and nutrients. That controlled environment can help growers maintain consistent conditions throughout the cultivation process and produce flower with carefully developed aroma, flavor, potency, and terpene profiles.
OUTDOOR NUG
Outdoor cannabis is grown under natural sunlight and seasonal conditions. Often called sun-grown cannabis, outdoor cultivation allows the plant to grow in its natural environment and can produce distinctive flower influenced by the genetics, soil, climate, and growing region.
GREENHOUSE NUG
Greenhouse cannabis brings elements of indoor and outdoor cultivation together. Plants can benefit from natural sunlight while growers maintain more control over environmental conditions like temperature, humidity, and airflow. It offers a middle ground between traditional outdoor growing and a fully controlled indoor grow.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Indoor, outdoor, and greenhouse describe how cannabis was grown—not whether one flower is automatically better than another. Genetics, cultivation practices, harvesting, drying, curing, storage, and freshness can all influence the quality of the final cannabis flower.
Cannabis comes in more forms than just flower. Understanding the different types of cannabis products can make browsing a dispensary menu a whole lot easier. Here’s a quick breakdown:
FLOWER
Traditional dried and cured cannabis flower, or nug, that can be smoked in a bowl, pipe, joint, or other smoking device. Flower comes in different strains, potencies, and terpene profiles.
PRE-ROLLS
Ready-to-smoke joints made with ground cannabis flower. Cannabis pre-rolls are a convenient option when you don’t want to grind and roll flower yourself.
INFUSED PRE-ROLLS
Pre-rolls enhanced with cannabis concentrates such as resin, rosin, distillate, or kief. Infused pre-rolls typically contain higher THC levels than traditional pre-rolls.
VAPES
Portable cannabis vape cartridges, disposable vapes, and pens containing cannabis oil or extract. Different vapes may contain distillate, live resin, rosin, or other cannabis extracts.
CONCENTRATES
Concentrated cannabis extracts including rosin, resin, live resin, wax, and other forms. Concentrates can vary in texture, terpene profile, potency, and how they’re consumed.
EDIBLES
Foods and treats infused with cannabis, including THC gummies, chocolates, and other cannabis edibles. Edibles are consumed rather than inhaled, and their effects can take longer to appear and last longer than inhaled cannabis.
DRINKS
Cannabis-infused beverages come in a variety of flavors, formats, and THC serving sizes. Like edibles, cannabis drinks are consumed rather than inhaled, though onset time can vary by formulation.
TOPICALS
Cannabis topicals include lotions, creams, balms, and other products applied directly to the skin. Many are formulated with cannabinoids such as THC or CBD and generally aren’t intended to produce the same intoxicating experience as inhaled or edible cannabis.
GOOD TO KNOW:
There’s no single “best” type of cannabis product. The right choice can depend on the experience you’re looking for, your preferred way to consume, potency, THC dosage, and your individual tolerance. Not sure what all of that means yet? That’s exactly what the Nug Fam is here for.

No, we do not currently accept credit cards. Cash is the easiest way to pay when you visit Love Nug, so we recommend bringing cash with you when you shop.
Because cannabis remains federally regulated, traditional credit card networks generally don’t allow cannabis purchases to be processed the same way as purchases at other retail businesses. This is common at legal cannabis dispensaries and isn’t unique to Love Nug.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Planning ahead makes your dispensary visit that much easier. Bring cash, bring your valid ID, and come ready to see what’s fresh. If you have questions about payment options before you visit, Ask the Nug Fam—we’re always happy to help.
You must be 21 years or older to purchase adult-use cannabis at Love Nug, and you’ll need a valid ID to verify your age.
Why? New York State law requires licensed cannabis dispensaries to verify that customers purchasing cannabis are at least 21. It’s part of the regulations that keep New York’s legal cannabis market safe, responsible, and compliant.

We believe knowing where your cannabis comes from matters. That’s why we’re proud to carry New York-grown and New York-produced cannabis products, including flower, pre-rolls, edibles, vapes, concentrates, and more from cultivators and processors across the state.
WHY DOES THAT MATTER?
Shopping at a licensed New York dispensary means you’re purchasing cannabis that has moved through the state’s regulated supply chain, with requirements around testing, labeling, tracking, and product safety before it reaches the dispensary shelf.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Our seed-to-shelf experience gives us a deeper appreciation for the work that happens long before a product reaches our shelves. From cultivation and processing to the finished product, we love knowing the people, processes, and craftsmanship behind the New York cannabis we carry.
Shopping at Love Nug is easy—there are really just two things you’ll want to have ready:
A VALID PHOTO ID
Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID showing that you’re 21 or older. New York licensed cannabis dispensaries are required to verify age before an adult-use cannabis purchase can be made.
A WAY TO PAY
Cash is the easiest way to shop, so we recommend bringing it with you. Debit cards are also accepted, and if you need cash once you arrive, there’s an ATM conveniently located on-site. Credit cards are not currently accepted.

Cash and debit cards are accepted at Love Nug. Cash is the easiest way to pay, and we recommend bringing it with you when you visit.
Need cash? No problem—an ATM is available on-site for your convenience. Credit cards are not currently accepted.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Cannabis dispensary payment options can work a little differently than other retail stores, so it’s always good to come prepared. Cash, debit, valid ID, and you’re ready to shop.
Fresh cannabis deserves to stay fresh. That’s why Love Nug stores cannabis products in a climate-controlled room maintained at a steady 61°F, helping protect product quality from unnecessary fluctuations in temperature.
WHY DOES STORAGE MATTER?
Cannabis is sensitive to its environment. Heat, light, air, moisture, and changing temperatures can affect delicate terpenes and contribute to changes in aroma, flavor, texture, and overall freshness over time. Keeping products in stable conditions helps protect the qualities that cultivators and processors worked hard to preserve.
FROM THEIR HANDS TO YOURS
We know how much work goes into quality cannabis before it ever reaches a dispensary. Our seed-to-shelf experience is why we take what happens after it arrives just as seriously as what happened before. From cultivation and processing to storage and the dispensary shelf, every step matters.
GOOD TO KNOW:
This is what we mean when we say “See it. Smell it. Always Fresh.” It’s more than a tagline—it’s part of how we care for the cannabis you take home.
